Lean Technician I

Position Summary

Essential Functions

  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Management)
  • Participate in and support kaizen events and improvement workshops
  • Help identify and eliminate waste (motion, waiting, defects, overproduction, etc.)
  • Maintain 5S standards and conduct regular audits
  • Assist in data collection and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Help update and maintain visual boards, Team Improvement Boards, and daily management systems
  • Support problem-solving activities using basic Lean tools (A3s, root cause analysis, PDCA)
  • Train operators on Lean tools and new standard processes
  • Work closely with production teams to support safety and quality improvements
  • Assist in sustaining improvements after implementation

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Ability to work on the shop floor in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint or similar)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean certification (Yellow Belt or equivalent)
  • Experience with Kaizen events or continuous improvement projects
  • Familiarity and experience with creating/updating visual management and daily management systems
  • Experience in safety, quality, or production support roles
