Job Title: Lead Software Engineer - Broadcasting Industry 

Experience Range: 8+ Years 

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid Mode) 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the design, architecture, and evolution of our next‑generation test platforms for HbbTV, CI+, and DVB‑based broadcast ecosystems, spanning software, hardware, and cloud components. 

  • Translate complex, abstract specifications into clear, testable objectives and implement them in robust and scalable frameworks. 

  • Own end‑to‑end system architecture, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and long‑term technical resilience across diverse components. 

  • Design, build, and verify sophisticated software and hardware elements, demonstrating deep technical ownership and the ability to navigate intricate engineering challenges. 

  • Represent the company in international standards groups, contributing to testability discussions, clarifying ambiguities, and influencing the direction of HbbTV, CI+, DVB, and related standards. 

  • Act as a player‑coach: mentor engineers, set coding and architectural standards, participate in hiring and growing the team, and actively unblock technical challenges through hands‑on expertise. 

  • Shape engineering culture, championing quality, clarity, and technical excellence across the team. 

  • Work as part of a globally distributed team spanning the UK, India, China and Belgium. 

  • Strong ability to critically analyse international broadcast and media standards (HbbTV, CI+, DVB, MPEG) and contribute to discussions ensuring they are testable, secure, and unambiguous. 

  • Demonstrated experience delivering high‑quality software using Python, Django, and Linux, including building large‑scale frameworks, optimizing performance, and implementing automated test orchestration. Experience with C#, C++, and JavaScript for front‑end development is a plus. 

  • Deep understanding of the broadcast industry with an emphasis on HbbTV and CI+. 

  • Experience with media streaming technologies such as DASH, DRM systems in particular PlayReady and Widevine. 

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure) for distributed or hybrid test systems. 

  • Experienced in using JIRA and Azure DevOps for end‑to‑end ticket management, including backlog refinement, estimation reviews, sprint planning, workflow optimisation, and release monitoring to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery. 

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and release‑management processes using tools such as Jenkins. 

  • Demonstrated ability to set architectural direction, make strategic technical decisions, and guide long‑term evolution. 

  • Experience mentoring engineers, conducting technical reviews, and establishing engineering best practices. 

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to broadcasters, OEMs, chipset vendors, and standards organisations. 

  • Experience participating in or influencing international standards bodies is a strong advantage. 

  • A track record of shaping engineering culture and contributing to hiring and team development.
