Lead, Global Communications Platforms

NIKE, Inc.
Beaverton, Oregon

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

At NIKE, Inc., we serve athletes* everywhere. Our Global Communications team tells the stories that shape how the world experiences Nike—across owned platforms, campaigns, launches, and moments that matter.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Global Communications partners, designers, engineers, and external vendors to help support and evolve the platforms behind Nike’s most visible stories. You’ll contribute to day‑to‑day execution while learning how modern publishing platforms enable speed, creativity, and trust at scale.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a motivated engineer and platform practitioner who is technically curious, collaborative, and excited to work at the intersection of technology and storytelling.

You enjoy building, learning, and supporting platforms used by non‑technical teams, and you care about creating reliable, usable tools that help tell powerful stories.

You are someone who:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • Has experience working as a full‑stack engineer and is eager to grow across frontend and backend development
  • Enjoys collaborating with product partners, designers, and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Can take direction, ask thoughtful questions, and translate requirements into working solutions
  • Cares about quality, usability, and performance
  • Is comfortable working in existing systems and continuously improving them over time
  • Has hands‑on experience with some of the following technologies: Node, TypeScript, Amazon Web Services, Next.js, Terraform, GitHub Actions (depth in all is not required)

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Lead, Global Communications Platforms, you’ll help Global Communications teams publish confidently and consistently across launches, campaigns, and key moments.

You will:

  • Support the development and maintenance of publishing and editorial platforms used by Global Communications
  • Help build intuitive, accessible tools that empower editors, producers, and storytellers
  • Assist in translating communications needs into platform features and enhancements
  • Collaborate with designers and Nike Tech partners to implement design systems and shared services, including the Nike Media Platform
  • Contribute code, documentation, and testing to ensure platform reliability and performance
  • Support releases and production deployments with guidance from senior engineers
  • Help gather basic insights and analytics to understand platform usage and storytelling performance

In this role, you’ll develop strong fundamentals in platform engineering while gaining exposure to large‑scale publishing systems and editorial workflows. With support from senior teammates, you will:

  • Learn Nike engineering standards, security practices, and platform governance
  • Take ownership of well‑scoped components, features, or services
  • Contribute to maintaining healthy, well‑documented systems
  • Build context and judgment by working closely with communications and creative partners

This is a hands‑on role designed for growth—ideal for someone ready to deepen their technical skills while learning how technology supports Nike’s storytelling at a global scale.
