As a Lead Director, Strategic Planning, you will play a critical role in supporting our Aetna members and our business by running the operating rhythm, driving cross-functional alignment on key initiatives, executive communications, and turning leadership intent into clear decisions, plans and follow-through. 

As a critical member of the Medicare Supplement and Ancillary team your responsibilities will include:

  • Partner closely with the Business Leader to set, communicate, and drive strategic priorities across the organization
  • Run the business operating cadence (weekly leadership touchpoints, monthly business reviews, quarterly planning) and ensure materials and decisions are clear and actionable
  •    Lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables are met
  • Own executive communications for the business (leadership updates, org messaging, decision memos, meeting narratives)
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or issues impeding execution; escalate critical matters as necessary
  • Operate in ambiguity and building structure quickly
  • Oversee special projects as assigned, including business development, operational improvement, and innovation initiatives
  • Support the annual planning process, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders across Medicare Supplement, Ancillary, and broader enterprise teams to ensure alignment and information flow
  • Represent the Business Leader and leadership team in meetings and external engagements as needed

 Required Qualifications:

  • ·10+ years in strategy, operations, chief of staff, consulting, product operations, program leadership, or similar roles with enterprise stakeholders
  • Track record running operating cadence, producing executive ready materials, and driving complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong analytical and narrative skills: can synthesize data + story into decisions     

      

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare / insurance experience
  • Medicare experience

We support a hybrid work environment. If selected and you live near a suitable work location, you may be expected to comply with the hybrid work policy. Under the policy, all hires for in-scope populations should be placed into a hybrid or office-based location, working onsite three days a week. Aetna Service Operations office/hub locations will be discussed with the selected candidate

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
