Lead - Design Management (Interior)
Purpose/Objective
End to end is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution oversight of interior design for hotel and hospitality assets within the Group’s hospitality asset portfolio.
This role ensures that all interior design outcomes align with brand standards, asset positioning, guest experience expectations, and the integrated project plan for newly acquired land banks and developments.
The position plays a vital role in design governance, quality assurance, supplier/contractor coordination, and providing analytical inputs related to design feasibility, benchmarking, sector insights, and financial modeling.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Design Planning & Governance • Review interior design plans for all hotel assets in alignment with brand guidelines and guest experience objectives.
• Review and validate interior design concepts, layouts, drawings, and material specifications.
• Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks across interior design projects.
Stakeholder & Brand Alignment • Collaborate with hotel operators & project teams to ensure interior design meets brand identity, service philosophy, and operational requirements.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of interior plans into architectural and structural designs.
Commercial & Technical Analysis • Contribute to due diligence on potential hotel assets or land bank projects from an interior design feasibility standpoint.
• Conduct analysis, peer benchmarking, and design-related competitive studies.
• Support in financial modeling with design cost inputs, value engineering opportunities, and ROI driven design decisions.
Documentation & Reporting • Prepare design governance reports, progress trackers, and approval notes for the CEO Office.
• Maintain a repository of brand standards, design benchmarks, and best practices for hospitality interiors.
Technical Competencies
Expertise in interior design concepts, material selection, finishes, and hospitality design standards.
,Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, etc.
).
,Strong knowledge of BOQs, costing, value engineering, and financial implications of design decisions.
,Familiarity with project management processes, construction sequencing, and coordination protocols.
,Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and identify design integration issues.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications Essential Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline.
Desirable/Preferable Preferred: Certification in hospitality design or luxury interiors.
Experience in working on hotel projects Advantage: Exposure to project management tools or real estate development frameworks.
Work Experience (Cumulative) Total Years (Band) 7- 12 Years Years (Relevant) At least 5 years in Hospitality Industry Types of Organization Real Estate (Hospitality segment) / Hotel Brands/Hotel owning companies.
