Lab Analyst
Overview The Quality Control Laboratory Analyst is responsible for conducting chemical, physical, and microbiological testing to ensure raw materials, packaging materials, in‑process products, and finished goods meet company, regulatory, and food safety standards. The role supports product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Perform and document chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses for raw materials, packaging materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished products in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and quality standards. Conduct wastewater analysis and ensure results comply with environmental and regulatory requirements. Implement and manage product hold and release procedures based on laboratory results. Perform internal calibration checks for laboratory equipment and instruments according to defined schedules. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance and Weak Link reports. Participate in investigations related to product quality issues, deviations, and customer complaints. Communicate Out‑of‑Specification (OOS) results to management and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Ensure compliance with Global PepsiCo Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems (GEHSMS) and all relevant local authority requirements. Carry out sanitation, hygiene, and environmental monitoring tests in line with PI standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain full compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), HACCP, ISO, hygiene, and EHS procedures. Support food safety objectives by applying key food safety attributes within the area of responsibility. Ensure proper storage, traceability, and testing of retained and shelf‑life samples. Achieve high product quality standards relative to competitors, including Frito‑Lay Challenge (FLC) benchmarks. Maintain consistent passing results in internal and regional proficiency testing programs. Escalate quality issues to the Laboratory Supervisor and provide technical input as needed. Conduct trade and retail audits across all Distribution Centers (DCs). Perform any other related duties as assigned, including cross‑functional support for R&D or other departments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Chemistry, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related scientific discipline. 1–2 years of experience in a Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment is preferred. Very good verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and applicable food safety standards. Solid understanding of quality management systems.
