The EHS Specialist - Production is a shared resource between Microelectronics Production and the Environmental, Health, and Safety team. This role’s primary responsibility is to ensure safe operations on the production floor for the building of Kurita manufactured equipment. The EHS Specialist also performs safety related duties for the EHS team as assigned by the EHS Manager.
Title: Environmental Health & Safety Specialist - Production
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Pay: $35/hr to $40/hr (DOE)
Responsibilities
- Multiple daily walkthroughs of Production floor to ensure all operations are practicing safety protocols.
- Implement safety improvements to Microelectronics Production based on observations and recommendations.
- Investigate near misses and accidents and implement preventative and corrective action plans.
- Oversee Job Hazard Analysis activities for Microelectronics Production.
- Maintain safety training records for Microelectronics Production personnel.
- Develop and maintain a safety program for Microelectronics Production contract workers.
- Assist with safety concerns related to Kurita skid design.
- Other safety duties as assigned by EHS Manager.
Assist with duties of EHS Specialist and serve as additional EHS support.
Qualifications
Education:
- At least 2-year degree in safety or a closely related field or a combination of safety certifications and experience
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years working in a production/manufacturing specific safety role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of best safety practices for production environments Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Understanding of KAI business processes
Physical & Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, climb or balance, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer.
