Key Account Manager - Heavy Industries
The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing, retaining, and growing strategic accounts by positioning the full company portfolio (products, services, and solutions) as a long‑term value partner. The role is responsible for supporting sustainable revenue growth, margin optimization, and customer loyalty through a thorough knowledge of heavy industry operations, asset lifecycles, and critical applications .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Key Account Plans aligned with regional and global strategies.
- Build multi‑level relationships with customer stakeholders (operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, management);
- Grow profitable sales across the full portfolio: bearings, lubrication, seals, condition monitoring, services, remanufacturing, and engineering solutions.
- Coordinate local contract negotiations and monitor contract execution with a lifecycle view.
- Understand critical heavy industry applications (crushers, mills, conveyors, HPGRs, screens, mobile equipment), coordinate internal technical experts to deliver value based solutions
- Position the organization as a trusted reliability partner, focused on uptime, safety, and cost reduction.
- Coordinate customer business reviews, performance tracking, and joint improvement plans; support failure analysis, root cause investigations, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a structured and qualified sales pipeline aligned with strategic priorities by monitoring market trends and other key indicators
- Act as the single point of accountability for key heavy industry accounts internally by coordinating sales, service, application engineering, supply chain, and marketing resources.
What we expect for this position
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial) or equivalent
- Some years’ experience, from 5 to 10, in heavy industries or OEM environments
- Proven experience in key account management or strategic sales
- Commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience
- Proven customer orientation and relationship building
- Availability to travel regularly, local and regional

Additional information
The position will be located in Boksburg. Northern Cape, Limpopo or Mpumalanga can also be considered as location for this role. Local contract.
You will report to the Managing Director South Africa & Regional Manager Southern Africa, who is located in Boksburg, South Africa.
