DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comprehends diagrams schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures. 
  • Operates rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts. 
  • Understands how to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances. 
  • Align and test equipment to make any necessary adjustments. 
  • Performs preventative and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts as necessary.
  • Periodically perform tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts. 
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Supporting machinist at location as fabrication needs dictate. Experience in Machining considered and asset.

Job Requirements

  • Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
  • Successful candidates are required to have a valid Alberta driver’s license and provide a 5-year driver’s abstract.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work for a long duration of time.
  • Must be able to perform duties at heights.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to complete all pre-access training as identified prior to mobilization.

Trade Requirements

  • Millwright Journeyperson certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.

Position Information

  • Located in the Edmonton Area
  • 5/2 Rotation Schedule
  • Must have valid driver's license & own reliable transportation 
  • Travel may be required
