Job Summary

We are seeking a CNC Machinist for advanced machining operations to support production excellence. This role requires technical knowledge, setting up and operating CNC machines, and a strong commitment to precision, quality, and safety. The CNC Machinist will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently set up, program, and operate CNC milling and CNC turning equipment
  • Set up and run jobs according to work instructions and prints
  • Monitor production and perform in-process inspections to ensure quality
  • Read prints, understand tolerances, and verify parts meet specifications
  • Identify and report machining issues such as tool wear or dimensional drift
  • Manage basic tooling/offset adjustments
  • Assist with troubleshooting and continuous process improvements
  • Read and make minor edits to G-code at the machine when required
  • Keep a clean, safe, organized workspace and support team workflow

Skill and Trade Qualifications

  • CNC milling experience with setups and offsets
  • Blueprint reading and measuring skills
  • G-code required: ability to read/interpret and make controlled edits/debug fixes
  • Reliable, coachable, and collaborative
  • Self Starter and confidence in working in a fast paced shop 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems

Skills to be considered assets

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Math
  • Problem-solving
  • Fixture/work holding experience
  • Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls (or comparable)

 Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certification or vocational training in machining preferred
  • 1+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience (or equivalent expertise)

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing or shop-floor environment
  • Standing for extended periods; lifting and handling materials as required
  • May involve shift work or overtime based on production needs

Position Information

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-time
  • Must have valid driver's license & own reliable transportation 
  • Travel may be required in the Edmonton Area
  • JM Certification is must!
  • Must be a local resident to the Edmonton and Surrounding area
