[Job-28425] Principal Cloud Infrastructure Architect – Platform Transformation Lead), Brazil
We are looking for a Principal Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead a large-scale transformation of a client’s infrastructure operations into a modern, federated platform engineering model. You will help design and establish the target operating model while enabling a large group of engineers across multiple product teams to become self-sufficient in cloud infrastructure usage.
The role requires advanced or fluent English to collaborate with distributed teams across the US, Brazil, London, and India, as well as the ability to travel to London for periodic on-site engagements.
Responsibilities
- Design a modern cloud infrastructure operating model, clearly defining responsibilities between central platform teams and product engineering teams
- Define and drive the transition from centralized infrastructure operations to a federated model with appropriate guardrails, standards, and self-service capabilities
- Define team structure, capability models, and governance frameworks to support scalable and AI-enabled engineering practices
- Work directly with both platform and product teams to execute the transformation, not only design it
- Establish enterprise-grade standards for cross-cutting concerns such as AWS account structure, multi-region strategy, networking, security, and resilience
- Build and evolve self-service infrastructure patterns, templates, and internal platforms that enable autonomy with consistent governance
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring across AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and modern cloud-native architectures
- Incorporate AI-native engineering and DevSecOps principles into platform design and delivery practices
- Support organizational change management and alignment across engineering and leadership stakeholders
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering, including large-scale operating model transformations
- Deep AWS expertise, including account design, IAM, VPC networking, Transit Gateway, security, and enterprise-scale governance
- Strong experience managing production-grade Kubernetes (EKS) environments at scale
- Advanced Terraform expertise, including reusable module design and organization-wide IaC standards
- Proven experience transitioning organizations from centralized infrastructure models to federated or platform-based approaches
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance standardization and team autonomy
- Experience with modern cloud-native architectures, including microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive audiences
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership in transformation initiatives, not purely advisory roles
- Experience working with distributed, international teams in complex and fast-changing environments
