Janitor Maintenance Associate (Seasonal)

Reports To: Facilities Supervisor

About the Role

This is a hands-on role supporting the upkeep, repair, and overall functionality of our Brooklyn warehouse. You’ll play an important part in keeping our space safe, clean, and running smoothly for both warehouse and office teams.

On any given day, you might be fixing equipment, handling basic repairs, setting up workspaces, or helping maintain an organized and clean environment across the building. It’s active, physical work that requires problem-solving, attention to detail, and a willingness to jump in where needed.

This is a seasonal position with the potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

We see this role as a strong foundation. Team members who demonstrate reliability, initiative, and ownership may have opportunities to grow into broader facilities or operations roles over time.

Success in this role comes down to staying proactive, resolving issues quickly, maintaining a safe environment, and being someone the team can count on.

This role is expected to support upcoming seasonal business needs, with schedule and duration based on demand.

This position pays up to $25 per hour based on experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and handyman work
  • Maintain and support warehouse equipment such as conveyors, pallet jacks, and tape machines
  • Conduct routine inspections and address issues proactively
  • Assist with installation and setup of equipment, shelving, and workstations
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and facility-related issues in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are needed
  • Maintain tools, parts inventory, and maintenance logs
  • Support general cleaning, organization, and upkeep of warehouse and office areas
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Jump in where needed to support the operation

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous maintenance or facilities experience (warehouse or industrial setting preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Experience working around warehouse equipment is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively
  • Reliable, punctual, and takes ownership of responsibilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders
  • Comfortable working around warehouse equipment and machinery
