The IT Business Systems Analyst is responsible for leading the analysis of business problems and developing requirements, product and process specifications and contribution towards product design efforts.
This role applies advanced knowledge to complex work and supports project, product and operations teams by sharing skills and mentoring. This role leads the work to implement solutions to complex problems, which may be independently or through leading or supporting the collaboration with other stakeholders.
What you will do:
The IT Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for collection, analysis, and documentation of business requirements, needs and features, contribute to solutioning discussions and translate business needs and features into developer-consumable functional and non-functional requirements as an input to design, development and testing exercises associated with application development, support or configuration. Working in a team environment, the IT Business Systems Analyst is responsible for:
- Working closely with cross-departmental staff to understand how systems are used to support business functions.
- Perform functional analysis and design, defining and documenting detailed business requirements
- Writes detailed functional and non-functional specifications or user stories for developing or modifying various systems.
- Create use cases for testing, as part of the System Requirements documentation process and work with quality assurance resources to ensure understanding of the requirements and traceability of test strategies, plans and test cases back to business requirements.
- Provide technical documentation and analysis, help administer or contribute to training for users, and support end users during the transition to maintenance period.
- Works with cross-departmental staff and management to analyze how existing systems may be improved to better support their business functions.
- Works with vendors and cross-business unit staff to deliver new systems and technology solutions.
- Responsible to support system upgrades and maintenance after implementation during the warranty period.
What you will bring:
- Degree in related discipline (Commerce/Management Information Systems, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in a business analysis role.
- Strong understanding of business principles and experience with a broad range of different types of business functions
- Strong understanding of general IT project methodologies, processes and practices
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills that rely on a structured approach to problem solving
- Experience with requirements gathering and documentation of functional and non-functional specifications.
- Communicates in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, that is appropriate for the audience
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person or remotely, initiative, and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Fundserv and Wealth is an asset
- Experience with UNITRAX or Univeris is considered an asset

The base salary for this position is between $65,800 - $109,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
