Responsibilities Job Summary: As a Customer Service Specialist in our Healthy Living Department, you'll provide a well-stocked and well-maintained department while providing superior customer service. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: • Customer Service / Sales: Provides superior customer service Answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections; helps customers locate store merchandise Merchandises product effectively Uses suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales Prepares work schedules for department Provides work direction and training to department Partners • Stocking: Stocks and rotates items as needed Assists with inventory control; loads, unloads, and moves product Organizes, cleans, and prepares back area for the night crew and incoming trucks Organizes merchandise on pallets to make the department presentable to the public Ensures integrity of shelf tags and signage in department; may create / prepare signage, as needed Maintains standards in shrink, safety, inventory control, and sanitation Checks shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality of products Builds, stocks, maintains, and takes down store displays The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: 1+ years Experience - Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of natural foods, vitamins, minerals, macrobiotics, herbs, sports nutrition, organics, homeopathy, and aromatherapy - Required Strong customer service and interpersonal skills - Required Strong verbal / written communication skills - Required Strong time-management, planning, and organization skills - Required Strong merchandising and selling skills - Required Leadership skills - Required Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks in a fast-paced environment - Required Ability to train partners - Required Education: HS Diploma or GED - Required Licenses/Certifications: Completion of Basics of Safety training - Required Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks Handle customer complaints in a professional, courteous manner Constantly reach at waist, grasp Frequently stand, walk Occasionally reach at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, pivot, twist, push / pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements Occasionally be exposed to loud noises, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions Demonstrate the ability to lift 15 lbs, and manage in excess of 15 lbs While there may be exceptions, the measurements noted are generally defined as--Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; Frequently: 2.5 - 5.5 hours per 8-hour day; Occasionally: 0 - 2.5 hours per 8-hour day It is Partners' responsibility to never lift beyond their own safe lifting limit.
