Are there any eligibility requirements?
Professional Interns must:
- Be currently enrolled and studying a relevant University Degree
- Have a maintained credit average
- Have Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency
Engineering Interns must:
- Must be in your third or fourth year of undergraduate study in the below disciplines
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Mechatronic
- Aeronautical
- Mechanical
- Electrical Engineering
- Have a maintained credit average
- Have Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency
Do you have any Internship Programs?
Yes, our Engineering Internship Program is a 12-week Program for students looking to gain real-world experience across Qantas Group Engineering. The program typically takes place between December and March, with advertising to occur in a few months prior across Hatch and Qantas Careers.
Do I need any prior experience in order to apply?
No, you don’t need prior experience to apply to any of our Internships. We’re looking for curiosity, a willingness to learn and a passion for contributing to real projects complementary to your university studies.
What happens at the end of my Internship?
At the conclusion of your Internship, your Qantas manager will support you to identify suitable roles that might be available internally. Depending on the stage of your career, you may consider the Qantas Graduate Program or other direct entry opportunities.
What development support will I receive as an Intern?
All Qantas Internship opportunities combine real world experience with coaching and feedback. During your Internship, you will be supported by a dedicated manager who provides guidance and helps you make the most of your experience.
Upon your commencement at Qantas, you will immediately become part of our Internship community. Our community offers centralised development opportunities through formal classroom style learning and engagement with subject matter experts across the Group. It also connects you with other Interns currently working with us, creating opportunities to build relationships, share experiences ad expand your network.
What security requirements must I meet?
All Qantas employees are required to complete an ASIC background check prior to commencement with the Qantas Group.
