Instructional Assistant (PreK)
Pre-K Instructional Assistants support the ABC preschool program by delivering high-quality early childhood education. Under the supervision of certified teachers, the assistant facilitates instructional activities, manages classroom behavior, and provides individualized or small-group support to students, fostering a nurturing and effective learning environment.
The role is performed in a standard classroom setting, which may include special education environments. Duties may involve exposure to various student behaviors and require flexibility to adapt to different instructional needs.
Must hold one of the following:
- An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Birth to Pre-K Credential
- Technical Certificate
- Certificate of Proficiency
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
Additional Requirements & Skills:
- Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
- Participate in professional development as required by ADE.
- Strong knowledge in core academic subjects; proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks as needed.
- Experience in a preschool or elementary environment preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Instructional Assistant wages will be based on individual experience and within the SY 2025-26 Salary Schedule range.
