Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator

Come join our team supporting the wastewater treatment needs for a food processing client located in Worthington, Minnesota! In this unique role, you will have the chance to work in Industrial Wastewater Treatment, allowing you the opportunity to grow and develop your skill set in the field. The Worthington, Minnesota staff is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and the building and grounds. The Wastewater Operator will be responsible for process monitoring and adjustments, as well as performing basic to advanced mechanical and electrical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, HVAC equipment, and various types of electrical equipment including VFDs, power systems, and much more. You will participate in the daily operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the plant manager.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7.00am – 3.30pm. Our staff participates in an “on call” rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours and rotating short shifts on weekends and holidays. Operators may be required to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.
What will you need to succeed?
- A wastewater license is not required but is preferred. We will work with employees to obtain licensure.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of pumps, motors, electrical and automation equipment, plumbing fixtures, boilers, and compressors is preferred.
- High School or trade school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
- Knowledge of computer applications, and ability to use & learn various software programs [Hach WIMS, SEMS CMMS, and Utility Cloud].
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, and other personnel.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as follow safety procedures.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-placement background check, physical and drug screen before employment.
