Role Summary
Fanatics Collectibles is looking for a Imposition Operator to ensure that all digital single PDFs and impositions meet established quality printing standards before printing begins. Primary focus is conducting the accuracy, consistency, and overall quality of digital files, proofs, and printed materials throughout the prepress stage, ensuring that design files are error-free and ready for printing. This role requires a deep understanding of the printing process, attention to detail, and an ability to identify and resolve potential production problems early on.
In this role, you will…
- Inspect digital single PDFs, impositions and hard-copy proofs for exactness in terms of design, resolution, color, bleed, margins, trim, and other print-specific requirements
- Verify that color separations (CMYK, spot colors) are accurate and ensure consistent color reproduction across different various content
- Ensure all images are high resolution (where applicable) and retouched correctly for print production
- Check that all necessary marks (trim, bleed) are in place with correct page size and orientation
- Provide clear feedback and maintain detailed records of quality control checks via our print software and any changes made to files or proofs during the prepress process
- Strong collaboration skills to work with other prepress departments in a fast-paced environment
The ideal candidate:
- 5-year experience in a prepress printing environment, with a focus on quality control and quality assurance
- Strong understanding of printing processes, including digital and offset printing techniques
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for file preparation and printing
- Ability to identify design discrepancies and communicate clearly on the issues to other prepress departments before print sign-off
