The Law Office of Yohana Saucedo, with offices in Austin and Laredo, is looking for a Spanish-speaking Immigration Legal Assistant/Paralegal with 2 or more years of experience to join their team for an in-person role in Laredo, Texas (or 100% remotely). 

In this role, you will work on family-based cases, deportation defense, and humanitarian relief as well as some business immigration alongside a small team. The firm’s close-knit culture encourages open communication, mutual support, and shared success.

Key info about the role:

  • Salary Range: $20/hr to $25/hr, depending on experience.
  • Work Location: In-Person in Laredo, Texas, or 100% remote. 
  • Language/Education: Fluency/professional proficiency in Spanish is required. An associate's or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred and/or paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program.     
  • Benefits: Health insurance, PTO, VTO, sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with an emphasis on work/life balance.
  • Start Date: As soon as possible (with the understanding that currently employed candidates will need to give notice). 
  • The-Day-to-Day Work: Under supervision of attorneys, you will prepare, manage, and support I-130s/AOS/CP, waivers (I-601/601A), N-400s, VAWAs, U Visas, T visas, asylum, Medical Deferred Action, TPS, and related relief. Assist attorneys with removal defense including EOIR proceedings, cancellation of removal, defensive adjustments, motions to reopen/reconsider, and administrative appeals. May also prepare and file employment-based cases including H-1Bs, L-1s, O-1s, and E-1/E-2s. Manage client communication including intakes and initial interviews as well as provide critical case updates and information.   
  • Preferred: Experience with INS Zoom and Excel and/or Google Docs a plus.
