About Our Family:
We’re a busy family of three (soon to be four) who recently relocated back to Austin after several years in San Francisco. With a 1.5-year-old son and a baby due in April, we’re in an exciting (and full!) season of life as we settle into our new home and routines.
Both of us have demanding careers, so our days move quickly and require focus. At home, we value organization, efficiency, and a calm, well-run environment that allows us to be fully present with each other.
Without nearby family support, we’re intentionally building our own village. We’re looking for a trusted, capable partner who can help manage the day-to-day rhythm of our home—overseeing meal prep, maintaining organization, and bringing structure and steadiness to our weekly routines. Our goal is simple: a home that feels calm, cared for, and supportive of this meaningful stage of family life.
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized. You’re someone who naturally takes ownership, anticipates needs, and keeps things running smoothly without requiring constant direction.
You’re calm, adaptable, and comfortable stepping into a dynamic household with young children. From planning and preparing healthy meals, to keeping shared spaces organized, to occasionally supporting with light childcare, you’re confident in managing a variety of responsibilities with efficiency and care.
Professional yet warm, you integrate seamlessly into a friendly family environment while maintaining clear boundaries and discretion. Experience with toddlers is important, but equally valuable is your steady presence, sound judgment, and ability to create order in a busy home.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard household and genuinely enjoy building systems that make life easier for others, we’d love to connect.
Key Responsibilities:
This role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly day to day, with a few core priorities that anchor the work. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or on an as-needed basis. We care more about the right things getting done – not checking all the boxes.
Daily Must-Haves (Monday-Thursday priorities):
- Prepare a healthy, whole-food-forward dinner M-Th
- Package leftovers for parents to repurpose as lunches during the week
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness post meal prep
- Assist with smaller, ongoing tasks, such as laundry, errands, maintaining home systems
- Daily sweep of the house to reset main living spaces before leaving (load/unload dishwasher, clear counters and wipe surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
Childcare Support & Special Projects (Saturday focus):
- Childcare oversight while parents run errands, go to the gym, etc.
- Ensure children are kept active without relying on screen time
- Tackle larger, more time-intensive projects, such as restocking groceries, cleaning out pantry, closet organization
The above core responsibilities come first, but once handled, we welcome support in other areas as time allows and needs arise, including:

- Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups

- Maintain indoor plants
- Potential to help oversee household schedules and calendars as the kids get older

- Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
- Create and manage running household supply lists
- Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
- Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
- Handle package pickup, breaking down boxes, mail sorting, and deliveries
Meal Planning & Preparation
- Prioritize preparing healthy, balanced dinners M-Th
- Shop for groceries and meal-related items
- Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness
- Keep fridge organized and clean out expired items
Laundry & Linen Care
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize mom’s clothing
- Oversee linen management: coordinate with cleaners, rotate bedding between guests, refresh towels, restock essentials
- Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
- Drop off and pick up clothing from drycleaners
Pet Care
- Feed and walk two small dogs
- Schedule and coordinate vet, grooming, or daycare appointments
- Administer medications, if required

- Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
- Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
- Track registration, insurance, and service schedules
Family Support & Child Assistance
- Provide childcare oversight on Saturdays to allow parents time for errands, workout, etc.
- Openness to serving as backup overnight childcare or as needed when nannies are unavailable
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
- Manage cleaners to focus on rotating monthly deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
- Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)
- Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly
