About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist based in Auckland. Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the operations team, you will be accountable for maintaining and implementing our environmental, safety, and health systems and partnering with HR on our wellbeing programme. You will ensure compliance with New Zealand legislative requirements, workplace safety management programmes, and local compliance commitments. Responsibilities will include carrying out risk assessments, conducting regular site audits and hazard inspections, managing hazardous substances, and delivering internal training to managers, supervisors, and employees. Ultimately, you will be the driving force ensuring we provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, clients, and visitors.

What you will bring

  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience applying health and safety requirements in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of New Zealand environmental, health and safety legislation.
  • Disciplined & Practical Approach: An analytical, disciplined mindset with a practical approach to carrying out risk assessments, compliance audits, and incident investigations.
  • Communication & Influencing Skills: The ability to partner cross-functionally to develop engaging safety and wellbeing initiatives, and to influence and motivate staff at all levels to take required actions.
  • Educational Background: A tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety.
