Lead and manage the business operations of Truist’s Merchant Services Operations teams within Enterprise Payments Service Delivery (Wholesale TD&O). Understand, lead and manage all financial and systems support for the Merchant Services operations teams. Provide leadership and first line application business support, ensuring operational functions and critical systems perform efficiently and effectively, as well as meet specific operational, bank and regulatory requirements, while achieving quality and accuracy measures in processes and services. Lead all settlement and accounting functions and ensure timely and accurate posting of all internal and third-party transactions. Ensure solid risk management routines and well-defined partnerships with Technology, Business, Risk, Corporate Finance, and all third-party partners to ensure consistent visibility and cohesive leadership to drive strategies and maintain superior client experience and operational excellence

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Roles & Responsibilities include:
1. Lead, plan and direct the daily and strategic activities related to Truist Merchant Services systems and platforms. Provide direction and guidance to ensure strategic projects, systems and infrastructure technologies, and departmental activities are completed and managed accurately and timely.    

2. Develop platform roadmaps and lead strategy development for all systems and technology platforms supporting Merchant Services operations teams.  Work closely with Business and Technology partners to develop business requirements and prioritize development in support of strategy.

3. Maintain strong focus on stability or platforms, and precise execution for both BAU and project and initiative development. Manage the complex integration and interfaces present within the Truist technology infrastructure, with both internal and external partners.  Monitor systems effectiveness, minimizing operational risk.

4. Ensure that daily settlement with Fiserv and TSYS is completed timely and accurately. Work closely with financial partners on matters involving centralized oversight. 

5. Optimize use of global resources to develop and implement business improvement strategies that complement the use of offshore capacity, automation and process improvements.  

6. Stay current in knowledge of the payments network innovation.  Keep abreast of new industry developments through a variety of media and payment industry sources.  Actively participate in industry and vendor groups that have direct impact on Truist and shape industry direction.

7. Develop and maintain a strong and flexible team, focusing on increasing electronic payments knowledge, client service and career advancement.  Manage performance reviews and salary actions in accordance with policy.  Plan for future personnel resource needs, succession planning and hire appropriately.

8. Plan, develop and administer the departmental budget in accordance with corporate guidelines.  Understand and manage the impact on the budget of operational issues and adjust decisions accordingly.


QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Minimum 10 years’ experience in Finance or related business field. 
2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
3. Demonstrated record of advancement and successful assumption of additional responsibility and span of control, and delivery on enhanced goals
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in addition to advanced organization and interpersonal skills.  Ability to develop and clearly and understandably present complex concepts at an Executive level.
5. Strong conceptual, analytical, organizational and communications skills and ability to motivate staff to achieve business objectives.
6. Experience in and wide knowledge of several key banking areas, including Banking Operations, Payments, Process/technology management, payments networks and processors, product development, Legal and Compliance and Operational risk management principles.
7. Good understanding and ability to analyze, forecast and move teams’ metrics.
8. Ability to work collaboratively within a complex organization, across multiple cultures, geographies, and disciplines.
9. Project management skills and capability to handle multiple projects and one time. 


Preferred Qualifications:
1. Previous Merchant Services leadership level experience within a highly complex financial institution. 
2.Extensive Payments industry background and broad industry knowledge, including participation in industry working and policy-making groups.
3.Extensive experience in mergers and system conversions, and successful management of these efforts for areas of responsibility.
