HEAD OF BUSINESS CONTROLLING BENELUX
The Head of Business Controlling reports into the CFO Benelux and is responsible for providing commercial and financial leadership support for all BU's in the Benelux to support and maximize the contribution of existing and new business in line with the Benelux Growth strategy. As being the Commercial Controlling expert, the Head of Business Controlling supports the development of both finance and non-finance colleagues and is hierarchical responsible for the Controlling team in the Benelux.
Main responsibilities
As the Head of Business Controlling, your role is multifaceted, encompassing a range of responsibilities aimed at driving financial and commercial excellence within our Business Units (BUs). At the core of your mission is to instill robust leadership and governance across the BUs, ensuring the seamless coordination of financial activities.
You actively engage in identifying, recommending, and implementing solutions to minimize financial and commercial risks while enhancing efficiency, profitability, and cash flow. A key aspect of this involves staying ahead of changes in commercial and financial requirements, promptly communicating and implementing necessary adjustments.
And further:
- Ensure financial reporting & forecasting aids effective decision making and monitors progress.
- Influence and drive the strategic direction of the business and the associated initiatives
- Drive financial and commercial strategies, plans and targets to develop existing & new business
- Ensure that robust financial and commercial solutions are implemented and monitored to optimize profit and minimize associated risk
- Support the preparation of contracts & business cases from a commercial & financial perspective, working with other stakeholders (e.g. legal, risk, property, tax) to ensure profit optimization & risk mitigation
- Create, drive & present improvement programs to aid business efficiency and profitability
- Ensure financial and commercial governance and ethical standards are maintained and communicated
- Lead and support the BU controllers with forecasting and normal business matters as and when required
- Manage and develop financial and commercial expertise in the business creating commercial best practice
- Actively lead, develop and motivate BU finance team
- Support own & others career development and succession agenda

Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Finance / Economics / Business Administration or similar
- 5-10 years of relevant experience (such as logistics, key business sectors, competitor or customer organizations) of which 3 – 5 years in a similar/comparable role
- Dutch and English fluently spoken and written
- Strong commercial drive and insight
- You have persuasive skills and possess excellent negotiation abilities.
