Role

The OCC Manager leads the team that executes air freight operations on behalf of Kuehne+Nagel branches worldwide. The OCC handles customer execution, documentation, escalation resolution, and coordination with origin and destination stations, carriers, and key accounts across all freight verticals. This role carries direct accountability for three things: stability of day-to-day operations, the capability trajectory of seven Team Leaders, and measurable reduction in errors, rework, and late escalations over time.

Your Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Development: Define what good looks like for each, identify gaps, and build a structured path to close them within daily operations, coach team leaders through escalations rather than resolving them and set clear decision boundaries.
  • Operational Performance: Maintain service performance and customer trust across a 24/7, high-volume operation, monitor error trends, distinguish systemic failures from individual ones, and act on root causes and ensure escalations to customers happen before SLA or milestone impact, not after.
  • Change and Process Adoption: Implement changes to operating models and ways of working defined at corporate level, build adoption with internal clients (CCL) who may resist change. This requires trust-building and clear communication, not just enforcement, drive system usage and reduce reliance on manual, duplicative processes and balance corporate requirements with the local operational reality in Cebu.
  • Quality and Capability Building: Build training and knowledge development into daily operations, reduce recurring errors by diagnosing whether the driver is a knowledge gap, a process gap, or a leadership behaviour and ensure INCOTERMS, documentation standards, and compliance requirements are correctly applied by specialists and understood by Team Leaders.
