As Group Social Media Manager you will be the driving force behind our brand's presence across the Group social media channels, sitting at the corporate team of a large, highly decentralized organization. You will be  hands-on, bring creative instinct, a strategic thinker and know how to get things done with a high degree of collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Location of the role is flexible within Europe

Responsibilities

  • Creating and publishing content. You will plan and post content developed by other colleagues and by you, across social media channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and X, ensuring ABB’s brand shows up consistently, relevantly, and with impact.
  • Repurposing and amplifying. You will work across the organization to surface the best of what they are already producing and reshape it for the Group social media channels.
  • Engage with our audience. You will monitor comments, messages, and mentions, ensuring we engage with our audience in a way that builds trust, fosters community, and builds and protects our reputation.
  • Create live moments. You will plan and execute regular live social media events, both topical and evergreen, around key company milestones and business priorities
  • Work with influencers. You will identify, engage, and manage relationships with influencers whose voice and audience align with our brand, co-creating content that extends our reach authentically and credibly.
  • Manage agencies and external partners. You will brief, coordinate, and hold the agencies we work with accountable, ensuring their output is always on brand, on brief, and on time.
  • Navigate a complex organization. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, each with their own priorities, building alignment and buy-in. You will play a key role in driving our Social Media Community of Practice, where social media colleagues from across the company come together to connect, learn and grow together.
  • Protect and empower the organization. You will develop guidelines, toolkits, and trainings that equip colleagues to use social media confidently and responsibly, safeguarding our brand wherever it shows up online.
  • Measure and report. You will track performance across Group channels, turning data into clear insights and actionable recommendations that inform our strategy and demonstrate the value of social media to leadership.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • Approx 8-10 years of communications experience with at least 5 years of experience in social media management, ideally within a large, decentralized and complex organization.
  • Proven track record of managing social media channels end-to-end, from strategy to execution.
  • Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with social media and project management tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Asana, Talkwalker).
  • Experience working with and briefing agencies, as well as running influencer programs and partnerships.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams, geographies and business units. Able to build buy-in across a decentralized organization without formal authority.
  • Experience organizing social media live events. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and format across platforms.
  • Solid understanding of the major social media platforms and their respective best practices (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and others).
  • Ability to repurpose and repackage content creatively from diverse sources.
  • Demonstrable awareness and sound judgment when it comes to reputational risk.
  • Proficiency with analytics platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence preferred)
  • Familiarity with basic content creation tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe)
