Oxy Algeria will be running 2026 summer internships lasting approximately 8 weeks, starting in early July. This internship is only open to students who will still be enrolled (not have graduated) from a Bachelor's or Master's course at an Algerian University in the summer of 2026.

This position will be based at Groupement Berkine in Hassi Messaoud following a brief onboarding at Oxy in Algiers.

The summer internship project will support the Groupement Berkine (GB) HSE Environmental team with improvements in the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reporting program for 2026.

The intern will work closely with HSE, operations, and engineering teams as needed to assist in the development of an air emission testing program, and to contribute with audit implementation and action item development for the GHG accounting and reporting functions.

Expected Deliverables

• Audit plan summary
• Market Summary / Benchmarking for air emission testing
• Final internship report and presentation, with high level summary of actions and outcomes of project tasks, including identification of improvement opportunities, and associated recommendations

Must be studying HSE, Process/Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a very closely related discipline.

Fluent English & French required. Arabic beneficial.

Good analytical skills to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities in HSE documentation.

Effective written and verbal communication skills to work with HSE, operations, and engineering teams.

Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks, track actions, and meet deadlines.

Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Basic understanding of HSE and international standards applicable to Greenhouse Gas emissions.
