Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Global Supply Planner to join our team at ABB Oy, Drives unit in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland.
In this role, you will be responsible for securing component availability for all Drive Products sites at ABB by ensuring full short/mid-term material availability of components for EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) suppliers. You will manage EMS supplier material buffers according to defined component buffer policies. You will showcase your ability in co-operating with EMS suppliers (1st tier), 2nd tier component supplier and ABB internal stakeholders to ensure collaboration and continuous performance development.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Ensuring global short/mid-term (1-8 weeks) component availability for EMSs to meet ABB business needs
- Supporting EMS companies with escalations towards ABB-managed 2nd tier vendors, working together with relevant sourcing manager
- Supporting sourcing managers with 2nd tier component availability by actively requesting alternative sources for components
- Approving small spot buys and in special cases procuring most critical components
- Communicating and implementing agreed component allocations rules with suppliers and ABB sites
- Ensuring that supplier component and semi-finished buffers are agreed and maintained at agreed level
- Developing and ensuring daily processes are in place (buffering, forecast sharing, lead times, etc.) between EMS and 2nd tier to ensure 1st tier material availability
- Managing and overseeing component availability related topics in operational meetings
- Communicating component availability related risks with EMS supply planners and buyers
- Identifying performance improvement projects for EMS suppliers together with sourcing and operations organization
- Developing processes, tools and practices to manage global component availability with sourcing to meet business needs
Qualifications for the role
- Good understanding of inbound supply chain and logistics is essential. Several years’ experience in SCM related position is relevant
- Established hands-on experience of working with EMS companies, preferably in purchasing/sourcing position. Knowledge of electronics components is an advantage
- Leadership skills, ability to influence others without an official authority
- Methodical, systematic and target-oriented mindset is a must
- Strong cooperation and demonstrated negotiation skills in a multicultural global business environment
- You are fluent in English and Finnish, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in SAP MM (Material Master) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- M.Sc. in relevant field of study
