The Opportunity:
Lead a Global Technical Powerhouse: Serve as the primary architect and visionary for Roche’s pen injector platform, leading a high-performing global team of 10+ technical experts and leaders.
Drive Strategic Innovation: Design and execute the technology roadmap for pen injectors, ensuring our platforms are at the cutting edge of parenteral drug delivery and integrated seamlessly with the R&D portfolio.
Own the Lifecycle Excellence: Direct the end-to-end design, development, and commercial readiness of pen technologies, overseeing design engineering, verification, and systems engineering.
Transform Operational Efficiency: Challenge legacy processes to streamline delivery, ensuring predictable, robust, and agile development timelines for all pen-based combination products.
Influence the Global Community: Act as the technical authority and strategic thought partner for R&D leaders, representing the pen platform on the Global Device Development Leadership Team.
Forge Strategic Partnerships: Manage and guide key CDMO partnerships, ensuring external designs are optimized for large-scale, industrial manufacturing and global compliance.
Cultivate E2E Synergy: Build and maintain deep relationships across Early Research, CMC, Regulatory, Quality, and Device MSAT to ensure a unified approach to patient-centric solutions.
Embody Modern Leadership: Practice the VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) model to foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and technical excellence.
Who you are:
An Industry Expert: You hold an advanced degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) in Engineering with at least 15 years of experience in medical device or combination product development.
A Proven People Leader: You have 10+ years of experience managing technical teams and leaders, with a track record of developing diverse talent and driving results in a matrix environment.
A Pen Platform Specialist: You possess expert knowledge in drug delivery pen development, from initial concept and industrialization to commercial support and global launch.
A Regulatory Navigator: You have a deep understanding of global legislation and industry standards (FDA/EMA) for combination products and have successfully led Health Authority interactions.
A Systems Thinker: You are proficient in risk assessment, tolerance analysis, and statistical techniques, with a firm grasp of parenteral drug delivery and manufacturing processes.
A Strategic Collaborator: You excel at influencing senior executives and managing complex stakeholder relationships across different cultural backgrounds and global locations.
A Master Communicator: You possess excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with full professional proficiency in English (German language skills are a significant plus).
