Your impact

As Team Lead, Payment Services, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments while guiding your team to deliver high-quality financial services. Your leadership will support compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement in Newmont’s global finance operations.

As part of our team, you will
  • Own end-to-end payment and T&E operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution aligned with SLAs
  • Monitor KPIs, drive performance improvements, and resolve critical issues and escalations
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Act as the main point of contact for key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution
  • Drive process improvements through gap identification, root cause analysis, and standardization initiatives
  • Manage workload, capacity, and resources based on operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and SOX requirements, maintaining audit readiness
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with demonstrated leadership experience. 
  • Advanced English proficiency is required
  • Experience in Accounts Payable, Payments, or T&E operations
  • Knowledge of SAP (MM/AP) and expense tools (e.g., Concur)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience in shared services or global delivery environments preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency is required
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Problem-solving ability and practical judgment in applying procedures.
Your Work Environment
  • You will be part of Newmont’s Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Costa Rica, working within the Corporate function.
  • The role is people-focused and involves cross-functional collaboration with global stakeholders across People, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain teams.
  • While the position is intended to be hybrid, as we establish our foundation, we will begin on-site to foster strong relationships, align our strategies, and ensure a solid framework for long-term success.
  • This role is for the day or night schedule.
  • Compensation will be aligned with the local Costa Rican market and paid in Costa Rican colones (CRC).
