Your Impact
As an Officer, Payment Services, you will support the accurate and timely execution of accounts payable transactions and Travel & Expense (T&E) processes. By following standardized procedures and systems, you will help ensure data integrity, policy compliance, and smooth payment operations across Newmont’s global business.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
- Process accounts payable transactions and T&E claims in accordance with established procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and monitor uninvoiced receipts (UR) and unreceipted invoices (UIR), following up with requestors, requisitioners, and sourcing teams to ensure proper expense recognition
- Perform vendor account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies, preventing duplicate or incorrect payments
- Support payment run activities, including validation checks and adherence to payment controls
- Assist in month-end close activities, including AP reporting and reconciliation support
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit and reporting needs
- Follow established workflows and service standards to ensure consistent and reliable service delivery
- Respond to basic inquiries or tickets related to payments and expenses, escalating complex issues as needed
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Technical qualification or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency is required
- Foundational knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and payment cycles
- Basic experience with SAP (MM/AP) and exposure to expense management tools (e.g., Concur)
- Understanding of key AP concepts such as:
- Invoice processing and validation
- Payment controls and holds
- Vendor account reconciliation
- Awareness of internal controls and compliance requirements (SOX)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow standardized processes
- Ability to manage routine tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a structured environment
Your Work Environment
- You will be part of Newmont’s Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Costa Rica, working within the Corporate function.
- The role is people-focused and involves cross-functional collaboration with global stakeholders across People, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain teams.
- While the position is intended to be hybrid, as we establish our foundation, we will begin on-site to foster strong relationships, align our strategies, and ensure a solid framework for long-term success.
- This role is for the day OR night shift schedule.
- Compensation will be aligned with the local Costa Rican market and paid in Costa Rican colones (CRC)
- Hybrid work model with an initial on-site phase for onboarding and team integration
- Day or Night shift depending on business needs
