Shop Assistant (Part-Time)

We are currently seeking two friendly, reliable Shop Assistants to join our team at a busy and welcoming garden centre. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with people, have an interest in gardening, and thrive in a supportive team environment.

Working Hours

Part-time, shared position (one week on, one week off)
Hours: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Rotating schedule:
- Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Schedule continues on a rolling basis
Every second weekend is required
Start date: End of April 2026

Key Responsibilities

Providing excellent customer service and assisting shoppers
Operating the till and handling cash accurately
Maintaining responsibility for till balances
Restocking shelves and monitoring stock levels
Pricing and labelling products
Keeping the shop clean, organised, and well-presented
Creating attractive seasonal displays
Ensuring a welcoming and helpful environment for all customers

About You

Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Reliable, trustworthy, and well-organised
Comfortable handling cash and taking responsibility
A genuine interest in gardening is essential
Previous horticulture experience is an advantage, but not required
Candidates should be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting
