Get closer to how the work comes to life.The Doris Fisher Creators Program is a 10-month mentorship experience designed to connect education and industry—bridging talent and access, and helping emerging creatives gain real-world perspective, guidance, and growth. In partnership with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), you’ll gain exposure to how ideas come to life inside a global fashion company.
Inspired by Doris Fisher’s instinct for design, curiosity, and deep understanding of the customer, this program reflects our commitment to building what’s next—through creativity, connection, and access.
Important: This program is designed for learning and career development and is not employment. Participants will not perform work for Gap Inc. or its brands, and participation does not guarantee an internship or other employment opportunity with Gap Inc. or its brands.
What You'll Do
Through the program, you’ll gain insight into how ideas come to life inside a global fashion company—while building the skills and confidence to shape your own path.
Monthly 1:1 mentorship with Gap Brand leaders across design
Exposure to how teams collaborate, create, and make decisions in a global fashion organization
Cohort experiences including workshops, panels, and small-group conversations with leaders
Additional learning opportunities like studio sessions, Q&As, and brand deep dives
Access to a network of peers, mentors, and industry professionals
Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours per month for mentorship sessions, plus light preparation.
What You’ll Bring to the Experience
This is a two-way commitment. We’re looking for students who are ready to engage, contribute, and make the most of the experience.
As a participant, you will:
Commit to the full 10-month program beginning August 2026
Come prepared for each session with coursework, questions, and ideas
Show curiosity—ask thoughtful questions and seek feedback
Engage actively and build meaningful relationships with mentors and peers
Reflect on what you’re learning and apply it to your growth
Who You Are
We’re looking for students who are early in their journey and intentional about where they want to go.
Rising juniors at FIT majoring in one of the following majors: Fabric Styling, Fashion Design, Graphic Design – Apparel, Technical Design, Textile Surface Design
Strong academic performance (3.5 GPA or above preferred with consistent performance in design coursework)
A portfolio or sample work that reflects creativity, craft, and potential
Demonstrated interest in fashion, retail, or related industries
Engagement beyond the classroom (projects, programs, or relevant experiences)
Known for initiative, follow-through, and a collaborative mindset
Recommended by FIT faculty based on potential and readiness
Available and committed to fully participate beginning August 2026
What You’ll Gain
By the end of the program, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how your work connects to the industry—and where you want to take it next. In addition, participants will receive a $500 stipend to help cover costs related to participating in the program.

Applications are open to all eligible students. Final participants will be selected through a competitive process including a combination of application review, faculty nomination, and conversations with Gap Inc. Leaders.
