Joining the hydropower team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. What you'll be challenged to do:
During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Support staff developing AutoCAD standards and design calculations for the hydropower team.
- Learn and apply the technical requirements and design criteria for design projects.
- Participate in technical meetings and discussions.
- Field work and site visit opportunities available.
- Prepare and present a PowerPoint summarizing the assigned tasks at the completion of the internship to hydropower team.
What you'll bring to our firm:
- Enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering program.
- Basic understanding and demonstrated interest in mechanical engineering design principles.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong data analysis, written, and problem-solving skills.
What we prefer you bring:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu pdf reader, technical drawing reading, report writing & formatting skills.

Core Business Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary Range: $21.00-$28.00 per hour
Salary dependent on completed years of education, relevant experience, and geographic location.
