Furnace Module Engineering Technician Night 1
Onsemi EFK is seeking highly skilled and motivated technicians to become part of our state of the art 300mm factory in Hopewell Junction, East Fishkill, New York. Equipment/Maintenance Technicians sustain and run the fab floor with the primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Technician positions are shift positions working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. Onsemi is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.
N1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday e/o Saturday 6:30pm - 7:00 am 15% night shift differental
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
- Monitor, control, and qualify state of the art 300mm Diffusion-Furnace semiconductor equipment
- Perform, and teach others how to perform, preventive maintenance activities
- React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
- Review Statistical Process Control charts and other system indicators for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
- Perform, and teach others how to perform, visual inspections (quality check)
- Recover from process and tool interruptions
- Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
- Complete all required reporting and documentation
- Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
- Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
- Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)
- 4+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab or technical support role preferred.
- Familiarity with Furnace semiconductor process modules and equipment (e.g., Asm, Tel)
- Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, vacuum technology, and plasma physics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to isolate and remedy complex issues on advanced equipment.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while dealing with shifting priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing facility.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts or weekends as needed.
- Physical Capacity Demands – Able to perform shift work on a 12-hour night shift schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment per Semiconductor industry and Onsemi protocol/requirements.
- Able to wear all required clean room and safety protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12-hour day (excluding breaks).
- Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.
- Able to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
- Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $21.20 -$36.92 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
