Full Time Instructor - EMS Waller area
Job Summary The EMS faculty member has the responsibility to ensure that course objectives are met through provisions of assigned lecture content and supervising campus lab and clinical experiences. The faculty position also involves collaboration with other faculty members of multiple programs. Principal Accountabilities 1. Utilization of established syllabi in the course(s)—consisting of, but not limited to, ECA, EMT, Paramedic, EMS-Instructor, Dual Credit at the ISD, and Continuing Education offerings. 2. Preparation of lecture outlines and notes based on course objectives in advance to program director. 3. Promotion of high standards of excellence in assigned courses. 4. Demonstration of positive morale and team spirit. This will include support of the college and program mission, philosophies, and goals for students and community. 5. Participation in curriculum development, review and revision. 6. Presentation of course content in classroom setting and attending class sessions. 7. Maintains EMS Lab equipment inventory and requests needed supplies from the EMS Program Director in a timely manner. 8. Ensures the availability of required training equipment and materials for each lab. 9. Help coordinate Lab instructor schedules 10. Coordinates Lab curriculum with the EMS Program Director and EMS faculty. 11. Serves as instructor in the Waller area at the ISD campus and/or CTE Workforce building. 12. Works with other EMS faculty to determine new EMS lab equipment needs. 13. Preparation of lab outlines and notes based on course objectives and outlines in advance and provides copies of the same to Coordinator. 14. Planning and implementation of National and State Skills Testing for all levels of students. 15. Participates in EMS department curriculum development and updates. 16. Documentation according to college and program policy. 17. Making recommendations for equipment, materials, and supplies. 18. Keeping informed and evaluating major trends in the specific areas of instruction methodology and technology. 19. Participation in program and college faculty meetings and activities. 20. Performs other duties as assigned.
