About the Family

We are a warm, creative, and adventurous family of four with two children (ages 5 and 2). We split our time between multiple properties in New York, Los Angeles, and just outside LA, and we travel frequently.

Both parents work in creative fields and lead busy, dynamic schedules. We deeply value structure, respectful parenting, clear boundaries, and a calm, grounded presence in our home. Routines for our children are consistent and important. Screen use is limited (travel & some on weekends). Our children thrive with curiosity, imagination, structure, and clear boundaries. We follow a respectful parenting approach (RIE in the younger years) and prioritize a peaceful, supportive environment.

Our family’s life is beautifully full, fast-paced, and always moving. We’re looking for a steady, grounded partner to help keep all the moving parts running smoothly. Because our lifestyle involves frequent travel and movement between homes, the ideal candidate is comfortable with this rhythm, enjoys travel, and can adapt with ease.

Who We’re Looking For

This is a long-term, highly engaged role supporting a dynamic, multi-home household. The ideal candidate is:

  • Calm, competent, and emotionally steady
  • Highly organized, tidy, systems-minded, and proactive
  • Flexible and adaptive—comfortable with shifting environments and schedules
  • Experienced in both household management and childcare
  • Detail-oriented and anticipatory—noticing needs before they’re spoken
  • Fun, imaginative, and playful, with a genuine love for child development
  • A strong communicator who thrives as a partner in the home
  • Warm but grounded, sharp, thoughtful, and capable—does not run anxious or intense
  • Someone who loves lists, routines, and systems, yet can roll with travel and dynamic energy
  • Someone with prior experience in similar roles, especially supporting families across multiple homes
  • Enjoys cooking and meal prep—comfortable preparing simple, wholesome meals for the children; a stronger cook is a big plus, as food - and homemade, whole ingredients are important in our family.

The right person is creative yet practical, respectful and kind, able to match a high-energy 5-year-old’s imagination while keeping the household running smoothly behind the scenes. They’ll be a true partner in childcare and home operations: playful with the kids, thoughtful, communicative, and exceptionally competent. Someone who loves lists, anticipates needs, excels at communication, and brings executive-functioning as a strength.

The ideal candidate is a team player, can roll with this lifestyle, travel along with the family, and find joy in it.

Future Schedule & Role Balance
Once both children are attending school full-time, we anticipate the position evolving into a blended role consisting of approximately 50% childcare and 50% household management. If school schedules remain consistent with our previous experience, the children will be in school from roughly 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. During these hours, the nanny/house manager will have dedicated time to focus on household and administrative tasks.

While the role includes a broad range of responsibilities, we structure the schedule so that most management tasks are completed while the children are in school or in the parents’ care. Based on prior household needs, we estimate approximately 20 hours per week of household management and 20–25 hours per week of childcare, depending on the family’s schedule and the children’s school calendar. When traveling or on the road, childcare hours will often significantly increase.
