Plant Manager
Role Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the overall performance of a manufacturing facility, ensuring consistent delivery across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives. This role requires a hands-on, people-focused leader who can drive operational excellence while developing leadership capability and sustaining continuous improvement. The Plant Manager holds full accountability for site operations, financial performance, and employee engagement, aligned with global standards and business objectives.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Lead all plant operations to achieve targets in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory
Ensure stable manufacturing execution through effective planning, scheduling, and coordination
Maintain compliance with EHS and regulatory requirements, promoting a safety-first culture
Continuous Improvement & Performance
Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence tools
Identify and implement productivity, cost, and working capital improvements
Ensure consistent use of standard work, visual management, and performance systems
Quality & Customer Focus
Establish and maintain strong quality systems to meet customer and regulatory standards
Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve issues and reduce defects
Act as escalation point for critical customer or operational issues
Financial & Strategic Accountability
Own site financials including budgeting, cost control, and operating plans
Support capital planning to enhance capacity and operational capability
Contribute to regional/global strategy and footprint optimization
Talent, Culture & Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team across key functions
Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning
Partner with HR on workforce planning, succession, and employee engagement
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate within a global matrix organization across functions
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Represent the site in regional and global forums
Requirements
10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience
Proven experience in senior plant/site leadership roles
Strong background in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Experience managing full P&L or site-level financials
Ability to lead and influence within a matrix organization
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
