Financial Accountant
About the Role
This role sits within the Group’s Financial Control team and is responsible for delivering a broad range of core accounting activities. The Financial Accountant will play a key role in preparing and processing journals, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, analysing financial information, and providing technical and administrative support to the wider finance function. Accuracy, attention to detail and sound accounting judgement are critical to success in this role.
Working closely with Senior Financial Accountants and Group Finance Managers, you will support the delivery of monthly, half-year and full-year reporting requirements. Key responsibilities include assisting with the month-end close process, reviewing the Group’s monthly profit and loss and balance sheet for completeness and accuracy, processing journals submitted by other departments, and responding to queries received through the financial accounting inbox.
This role requires a collaborative approach and a commitment to meeting group reporting deadlines. You will ensure financial processes and documentation are kept up to date, while also identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and controls. The Financial Accountant will actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the evaluation and implementation of enhancements that strengthen financial reporting and control across the Group.
About You
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting and are professionally qualified, or currently working towards a CPA or CA qualification. You bring a solid understanding of accounting principles and are keen to continue developing your technical expertise within a structured and regulated environment.
You have gained exposure to banking financial ledgers and statements and are comfortable working with computerised accounting systems. Your experience enables you to navigate financial data with confidence, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
You are a collaborative team player who works effectively with other Financial Accounting professionals and broader finance stakeholders. With the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines with limited supervision, you demonstrate strong organisational skills, accountability, and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality outcomes.
