Amazon's WW Operations Finance FP&A team is seeking a Finance Manager to join our Operations Insights, Planning, Analytics and Technology (IPAT) team. This is a highly visible role supporting VP-level leaders, with primary focus on financial planning and analytics, driving automation and process improvement, and governance and data quality initiatives.

As a member of the IPAT team, you will partner with World Wide Operations teams to set up scalable processes and controls, owning the governance framework while collaborating with stakeholders across operations, supply chain, finance, and other support teams. You'll use data analysis to ensure leaders have the most up-to-date, reliable information to make the best possible financial decisions. Your financial insights will directly enable faster delivery times, improved customer experience, and network expansion that serves millions of customers daily.

The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and analytical skills, with the ability to dive deep and succinctly communicate findings to senior leaders. This role requires operating with a high degree of autonomy in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity and holding a high bar on professional integrity. You should be passionate about using data to solve big, complex problems, and comfortable diving into processes ranging from Finance standard work to the functionality and design of tools. While the role offers significant autonomy, you'll be supported by experienced finance leaders and a collaborative team environment.

Key job responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Support quarterly business reviews with VP-level leaders across Operations, presenting financial analysis that influences strategic decisions
Analyze capacity planning decisions affecting billions in capital investment, thinking big about network expansion opportunities
Deliver accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have proven business impact
Build financial and operational reports/data sets that inform decision-making, applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs)
Drive forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support planning activities
Contribute to network scale initiatives and deliver ad-hoc analysis during critical business periods
Provide real-time financial insights during high-volume periods to optimize operational performance
Earn trust with diverse partner teams through accurate and timely communication on operational performance and financial impact

Process Improvement & Automation:
Spearhead key automation projects, collaborating across Finance and Technology teams to achieve high-impact results and enhance operational efficiency
Form strategic plans to improve processes, tools, and analytics, including ownership of project ideation, pilot implementation, stakeholder management, and expansion
Drive automation and scale of financial reporting by simplifying processes for internal stakeholders, insisting on the highest standards for data accuracy and process efficiency

Governance & Data Quality:
Identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, and create/implement escalation plans to close gaps
Evaluate risks and their impact, proposing and implementing improvements
Make thoughtful judgment calls in ambiguous environments where data may be difficult to procure
Use AI tools to draft and refine financial narratives, business cases, and strategic documents that align with Amazon's writing principles

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

Preferred Qualifications

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
