Facilities Technician Gas and Chemical Services Night Shift (Gresham)
onsemi is seeking a Gas and Chemical Services Technician in our Gresham, OR site. As a Gas and Chemical Services Technician, your primary responsibility will be to provide outstanding support for gas and chemical delivery operations. In this position, you are responsible for daily interaction with specialty gas/chemical delivery equipment, quality and inventory systems. You will be a team member of a department with 24/7 operational focus to ensure online material to supply production needs. This position will require collaboration with team members, production and engineering to maintain and improve chemical and gas operations.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot gas and chemical delivery systems, handling equipment, and work areas
- Troubleshooting: includes mechanical aspects, such as valves. Controls aspects such as PLC input/output signals. Wiring aspects such as continuity and other multimeter checks
- Management of equipment inventory
- Participate in various material ordering, and shipping/receiving operations
- Perform product transfer and container change outs on bulk and local delivery systems
- Hazardous waste handling, recycling, and disposal
- Provide effective support to the department’s customers
- Collaborate with team members, production, and engineering to optimize processes, responses, and cost
- Assist management/engineering in the creation of new work standards/procedures
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Support safety, reliability, and cost savings projects to improve departmental efficiencies and performance
- Continually drive group culture towards greater safety, collaboration, communication, learning, and development
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education and/or Experience:
- Knowledge of ultra-pure gas and chemical delivery systems, and their associated valves, pumps, regulators, and control systems
- Understanding of chemical classifications and hazards
- Follow and adhere to established safety practices, and programs
- Solid computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Train and certify to site-specific safety programs and training, including but not limited to respirator, SCBA, hazardous materials handling, material handling equipment, LOTO, Ladder Safety, DOT-RCRA
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment, be self-motivated, and be able to interface effectively with other groups
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs minimum
- Initiative and ability to follow through on detailed projects
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats
- Experience, training, and/or education that support the function of the position
- Minimum high School or GED
- 5 years of semiconductor experience or approved equivalent
- Understand how to use and safely interact with a multimeter
- Able to work independently to achieve project goals, up to and including the ability to research information online and/or query internal subject matter experts to elicit the information needed to achieve project goals
Preferred:
- Experience with gas and chemical delivery systems
- Experience in facilities systems
- Experience with hazardous chemicals and gases
