An opportunity exists for a Facilities Manager, based in our Auckland office, to support the effective management of Downer’s property portfolio across New Zealand.

This role is responsible for ensuring facilities are managed in line with lease obligations, Zero Harm principles and statutory requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the position also contributes to property projects, capital works, and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all facilities comply with lease obligations, statutory requirements and Zero Harm standards 
  • Support the development and management of facility budgets across leased and owned sites 
  • Coordinate and respond to facility requests in line with service standards and reporting metrics 
  • Maintain accurate lease responsibility matrices and support asset register updates 
  • Deliver property projects including capital works, fit-outs, maintenance and site consolidations 
  • Contribute to business case development including scope, cost, risk and delivery approach 
  • Manage supplier relationships and maintain panels for property and project services 
  • Partner with internal teams (Legal, Procurement, Finance) to ensure compliance and governance 
  • Oversee defects liability periods and ensure quality project delivery outcomes 
  • Support site transitions, relocations and operational readiness (hard and soft services) 
  • Ensure sustainability and environmental requirements are embedded across all activities 

 

What You Will Bring

  • Proven experience in facilities management within a corporate real estate environment 
  • Strong understanding of property operations, lease obligations and cost drivers 
  • Experience managing multiple projects, balancing time, cost and quality outcomes 
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and service providers 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities 
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and work management systems 
  • Relevant qualification in Facilities Management (or working towards)
