About the Position
Provide subsurface water management expertise and support within the Technology, Projects & Execution (TPE) organization Technical Execution Centre (TEC). Ensure compliance with Chevron Operational Excellence (OE) standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental protection protocols. Drive proactive water stewardship and continuous improvement to safeguard groundwater resources and minimize environmental impact during operations and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement groundwater management strategies to support operational and project needs.
Review contaminated site assessment and remediation plans
Conduct hydrogeologic modeling using geological data and well logs to determine the lateral and vertical extent of protected aquifers in operational areas.
Conduct hydrogeological assessments and modeling to evaluate potential impacts of operations on subsurface water
Interpret well logs, well construction details, abandonment records, and pressure data to identify risks to groundwater from oil and gas wells
Provide technical guidance on groundwater sourcing and subsurface disposal to ensure regulatory compliance and to minimize environmental footprint.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and HSE teams to integrate water management into project planning and execution.
Deliver training and awareness programs on subsurface water management requirements and best practices.
Manage external contractors including scope of work development.
Participate in Environment Communities of Practice (CoP) to share insights and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or related field.
4+ years of experience in subsurface water management or hydrogeology within oil & gas operations
Experience in well data analysis, regulatory compliance, and review of groundwater geochemical and geophysical analytical data.
Proficiency in Petrel, ArcGIS, MODFLOW, and Python, for subsurface modeling and mapping.
Strong knowledge interpreting and providing guidance on groundwater regulations, hydrogeological modeling, and environmental compliance frameworks.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Familiarity with Chevron OE governance and water management procedures.
Experience in groundwater modeling, permitting processes, and regulatory reporting.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders effectively.
Proficiency in digital tools for water data analysis and reporting (e.g., GIS, SharePoint, OE dashboards).
Strong collaboration and mentoring skills within engineering and HSE teams.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
