We’re actively seeking a talented Enterprise Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team in Newport Beach, CA.
This role is on-site. You’ll work at our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters.
As an Enterprise Architect you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by analyzing the role of product distribution in the insurance value chain, studying how Pacific Life can build disruptive and differentiating technology capabilities in support of the distribution business channel, advise and consult during the transformation ideation / planning / design phases, direct solution architecture design and development, and ensure adherence to architecture governance. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of 15+ architects (direct and matrixed) in the Consumer Markets Division (CMD). Your colleagues will include fellow enterprise and solutions architecture professionals. Pacific Life have made a deliberate investment in technology architecture to support strategic planning, technology optimization, and IT initiative execution.
How you’ll help move us forward:
External Environment:
Analyze global trends in utilizing technology across the insurance industry and potential disruptive influences.
Internal Environment:
Study business motivational context and interconnection of business and technology capabilities.
Consulting Support:
Provide advisory and consulting services, serve on technology decisioning committees, serve as trusted expert in the relationship between business and technology, engage at the transformation ideation phase.
Solution Development:
Develop and iterate on architecture solution designs for key initiatives and special projects.
Architecture Assurance:
Ensure that Solution Architects elaborate on High Level Designs by developing Low Level Designs that adhere to architecture governance.
The experience you bring:
Knowledge:
Broad but relatively narrow, financial services in general or insurance industry specific, deep in 3+ domains (Business, Applications, Data, Integration, Infrastructure, Security).
Skills:
Strong behavioral skills relevant to consensus building, communication, facilitation, negotiation, relationship building, working knowledge of business / operating / financial models and cost / benefit analysis, risk analysis / management, consulting, and navigating organizational politics.
Experience:
Diversified, multifaceted and extensive, stems from working with numerous technology solutions.
15+ years of progressive technology experience.
7.5+ years as an Architect.
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computed engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
