Your impact  

 

The Projects Engineering function plays a critical role in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient site-based capital and sustaining projects. As Engineer, Projects, you will support the planning, design, execution, and monitoring of site projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with Newmont’s safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Working closely with senior engineers, planners, and site stakeholders, you will provide hands-on technical support across the project lifecycle while building strong foundations in project delivery, field execution, and continuous improvement.

 

As part of our team you will

 

  • Support the development of project designs, plans, technical drawings, and documentation under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Collate technical data and requirements from multiple site stakeholders to support effective planning and design activities
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Capture observations from site inspections and report findings to senior engineers for review and follow-up
  • Assist with day-to-day project coordination to ensure activities are completed on schedule and within defined scope
  • Monitor project task progress and escalate risks, delays, or issues to the project manager as required
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and on-site support in collaboration with the broader engineering team
  • Support the maintenance and availability of tools and equipment required for project execution
  • Apply and support compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all project activities
  • Assist in safety assessments and the development of risk mitigation strategies as directed

 

Prerequisites for your success in the role

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Foundational experience or strong exposure to project engineering, site-based execution, and safety-driven environments
  • Practical understanding of project planning, design support, site inspections, and task coordination
  • Ability to apply engineering judgment to routine technical problems and seek guidance when required
  • Familiarity with project management principles, engineering tools, and site safety standards
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines
  • A proactive mindset focused on learning, continuous improvement, and safe work practices

Your work environment

 

Working a family friendly 5/2, 4/3 roster with options to work form home up to two days per week and reside in our fully equipped accommodation village.

 

This role is site-based and operates within an operational mining environment, working closely with project teams, operations, and technical stakeholders. The position offers hands-on exposure to active project delivery while supporting professional development within a structured engineering and project framework.

 

Full and unrestricted eligibility to work in the country of employment is required.
