The Opportunity: 

Seven currently has an exciting opportunity for and experienced and talented ENG Camera Operator Editor to join our dynamic and talented News team based at our Canberra Parliament House Bureau. We’re looking for someone who possessesa high level of creativity and a camera/ editing style consistent with metropolitan television.  

Reporting to the Supervising Camera Operator Editor, you’llbe responsible for filming segments and stories in various locations and aerial footage. In addition, this position will also support with editing segments and stories.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Camera and sound operation 

  • News editing 

  • News transfers and studio operation 

  • Maintain equipment and manage media files, ensuring technical and editorial standards are met 

  • Collaborate with reporters and producers to deliver strong visual storytelling 

 

What you’ll bring: 

You will be an experienced ENG Camera Operator/ Editor with a drive and passion for high production quality standards and the ability to think clearly, communicate, and act quickly under pressure requiring minimal supervision. You will be an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skill and the ability to form credible, productive relationships with Reporters and Producers. You'll also bring:  

  • Proven experience in news and on-air operations  

  • Experience in capturing high-quality video and audio in the field using ENG camera equipment 

  • Strong skills in managing camera, lighting, and sound for on-location shoots 

  • Ability to edit footage into engaging news and digital content under tight deadlines 

  • A willingness to travel at short notice to cover breaking news.  

  • An unrestricted manual driver’s licence.  

  • Flexibility ability to work irregular hours. This position may require some on-call/ out of hours work and overseas travel.
