Zero Motorcycles' Electrical Test Engineer supports the electrical validation of vehicle systems, subsystems, and components through hands-on testing and documentation. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Test Engineer, this role executes electrical tests to verify performance, reliability, and safety requirements across Zero's electric motorcycle platform.
Electrical Test Engineer, Level I or Level II
The Electrical Test Engineer conducts system and component-level testing based on established design validation plans, accurately documents test procedures and results, and maintains clear communication with engineering stakeholders. This position develops proficiency in test equipment operation, data collection methods, and electrical system troubleshooting while working collaboratively with Electrical Engineering and cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do:
Level I
Prepare and configure test benches, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for electrical testing activities
Conduct electrical tests on components and subsystems following established test procedures and safety protocols
Document test results and observations, and generate test reports for engineering stakeholders
Assist in the development of test plans and test setups under the direction of senior test engineers
Support cross-functional teams during integrated system testing and validation activities
Develop proficiency in electrical system troubleshooting and validation methodologies
Level II
Lead complex validation activities from subsystem integration through vehicle-level validation
Develop and refine test plans, test benches, and instrumentation configurations in collaboration with technical stakeholders
Configure and troubleshoot test benches, instrumentation, and vehicle electrical system faults
Diagnose test failures, analyze test data anomalies, and propose corrective actions
Generate clear and comprehensive test reports that effectively communicate findings, analysis, and recommendations to engineering stakeholders
Partner with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to maintain DVP&R schedule adherence, resolve testing issues, and address validation questions
Coordinate with third-party test labs, external partners, and equipment vendors on testing activities, instrumentation specifications, and technical requirements
Contribute to the improvement of validation processes, test methodologies, and documentation standards
