As the Duty Airport Manager, you’ll take on a leadership role in delivering safe, efficient and customer-focused airport operations during your shift. Acting as the on‑shift decision maker, you’ll oversee the end-to-end operation across above‑ and below‑the‑wing activities, ensuring operational performance meets safety, regulatory, service and commercial expectations. 

Working a rotating shift roster (Sample Duty Airport Manager Roster), you’ll partner closely with port teams, ground service providers, airport authorities and operational control functions to maintain stability, manage disruption and deliver strong on‑time and customer outcomes. As a visible presence on the ground, you’ll bring people together, align priorities and foster teamwork in both routine operations and high‑pressure situations.   

You’ll have: 

  • 5 - 8 years' experience in a frontline operational management role 
  • Proven capability as a people leader, able to motivate and influence teams during live operations 
  • Demonstrated experience managing disruption, competing priorities and real‑time decision‑making 
  • A collaborative, team‑player approach, working effectively across multiple stakeholders and service partners 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and incident management skills 
  • Clear communication skills and confidence leading operational briefings 
  • A customer‑centric mindset balancing service, safety and operational priorities 
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure 
  • Ability to use operational and performance data to drive outcomes and improvement
