Drafter
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drafter to support residential and commercial design projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical drafting skills, a solid understanding of construction documents, and hands-on experience using Chief Architect (preferred).
The Drafter will work closely with architects, designers, and project teams to produce accurate, code-compliant drawings and revisions throughout the design and permitting process.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise construction drawings for residential and commercial projects
- Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and details
- Translate design concepts, markups, and redlines into accurate drawings
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes and standards
- Coordinate updates and revisions throughout project lifecycles
- Maintain organized drawing sets and version control
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet project timelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Drafter in residential and/or commercial projects
- Chief Architect experience preferred (or similar drafting software)
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and drafting standards
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Comfortable working independently in a remote or hybrid environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with permitting and plan submission processes
- Familiarity with other drafting tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.)
- Knowledge of residential and commercial building systems
