Murphy Talent Group is growing and looking for a Talent Partner (Senior to Principal) to join our small and growing team in a remote setting. We're a team of Xooglers and start-up leaders, looking to build an elite staffing organization. The founder of Murphy Talent Group is Derrick Murphy who was Head of Talent and VP of People at an AI start-up called Gretel that was acquired by NVIDIA in 2025.
We're looking for someone who has expertise in one of the following areas, Engineering, Machine Learning/Applied Science, GTM, Product, or Executive Hiring to own retained and contingent search in those verticals.
We run mostly contingent searches for top Seed stage through Series C start-ups, but we're expanding into retained search and looking for someone who can own one or more verticals for retained search.
This is a commission based role (1099), 45%/45% split with 10% going to recruiting operations. Estimated annual earnings are 225k and above with no cap, but it depends highly on performance. This role is not for other agencies to partner with us. While the role doesn't require a long term commitment, a sign-on bonus potential for long-term commitment.
About you
You're a seasoned recruiter who geeks out about sourcing.
You know the highs and lows of recruiting and don't take the emotional rollercoaster of ups and downs.
You're a good person who genuinely cares about your candidates and the outcomes for your hiring teams, not just earning a commission.
You don't use AI for everything, you know that the human touch matters in this business.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Engineering, Machine Learning/Applied Science, GTM, Product, or Executive Hiring.
5+ years of experience, but less would be considered for candidates who have had exceptional impact in previous roles.
Nice to Haves:
