District Sales Manager - Food Industry

SkillsetGroup is seeking a Central California District Sales Manager to work in the city of Santa Barbara/Goleta, CA area.  The ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of the sales team within the assigned district. Collaborates in developing regional sales strategies and holds responsibility for achieving sales targets, profitability, and managing accounts receivable for the territory. Job Order Details:

Job Title: Central California District Sales Manager

Pay Rate: $90-$150k/yr. + bonus, someone with NO foodservice experience it would be $130k/yr. + bonus.

DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY!!!

Shift: Run own schedule 8:00 am – 5:00 pm or 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Covered Area:   South of Paso Robles, in or north of Ventura, or as far east as Bakersfield or Santa Clarita.     

Preferred: Foodservice experience preferred but will consider other industries.


Qualifications:

  • Must have 4–6 years of sales experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity (6–10 years preferred).
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred).
  • Supervise and lead a team of (10) sales associates within a designated territory, ensuring alignment with sales targets, profitability, and accounts receivable goals.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage sales team performance, hold regular meetings to reinforce product knowledge, sales strategies, and company policies.
  • Maintain district operations within set budgetary guidelines while driving revenue growth.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal departments to support long-term business partnerships and customer satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer issues, complaints, and emergencies, ensuring resolution and maintaining service standards.
  • Oversee and develop key accounts, manage sales pipelines, and process customer rebates and incentive programs.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to promote business growth.
  • Valid driver’s license required for travel within the assigned district.
  • Bilingual is STRONGLY preferred.
